In a perfect world Dan Harmon and Mitch Hurwitz would work together on the new Arrested Development.
Despite relatively upbeat reviews, the soap opened to only 646,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating in the adult demo. By comparison, Ringer averaged 40 percent higher in the 9 p.m. slot. Yes, L.A. Complex actually made Ringer look good. Complexalso shed half its 90210 (1.2 million, 0.6) lead in.
So many great points from last night. It was also the #1 show on any net for the night among Men 18-34 (so thanks, guys!) and it out-delivered The Office in total viewers. Having lots of fun finding points for our insights in the office today :)
Community will return on Thursday, March 15. Then 30 Rock shifts to 8:30 p.m., followed byThe Office and Up All Night. Parks & Recreation will come back on April 19 to finish its run after Up All Night concludes its 24 episodes. NBC was toying with the idea of givingCommunity a different time slot than opening the night against CBS’ Big Bang Theory, but perhaps after seeing how other shows like 30 Rock have fared in the slot this season, they realized Community isn’t the worst option here.
But that’s not all. There’s new comedies coming into the mix too. Bent (March 21) and Best Friends Forever (April 4) and the hidden-camera series Betty White’s Off Their Rockers are coming to Wednesday nights.
So this will be at the expense of Parks and Rec for five weeks, but it will then come back at 9:30 in place of Up All Night which is a good thing for ratings.
A lot of people watched TV last night.
Walking Dead had 8.1 million viewers and 5.4 million viewers among adults 18-49. That’s the biggest series drama telecast in the adult demo in basic cable history.
Well that’s something.
And it was NBC’s biggest night in prime among total viewers in the history of people meters (97.652 million) and the 2nd highest for any net in history.
Just doing my part to help save amazing television.
Prime Suspect is on there too, but it got cut off.
